BARK stands for Banfield Applied Research & Knowledge—our specialized veterinary research team that studies data gathered from the 2.5 million pets seen in our hospitals.

We are always analyzing and disseminating new knowledge so our veterinary professionals can practice the most up-to-date evidence-based medicine and provide our clients with best-in-class pet health care.

Our research findings are shared with Banfield veterinarians, the larger veterinary professional community and pet care consumers through continuing education events, peer-reviewed publications, white papers and our own Banfield Journal.
